VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Ryane Clowe tied the game on a power play with 53.5 seconds left and Rob Davison scored the winning goal in the fifth round of a shootout, lifting the San Jose Sharks to a 4-3 preseason win over the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night.
Rookie Devin Setoguchi scored the other San Jose goals - his fourth and fifth of the preseason - on the power play. He opened the scoring from a sharp angle in the first period, and tied the game late in the second with a pretty spin move alone in front, twisting to his forehand before pulling the puck back to his forehand to get Luongo moving the wrong way.
First-year goalie Thomas Greiss made 20 saves in regulation and overtime, and stopped all five shots in the shootout for the Sharks (4-0-2) who rested top-two centers Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau, and top goalie Evgeni Nabokov after playing in Calgary the night before.
