GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Markus Naslund and Todd Bertuzzi made themselves right at home in the Phoenix Coyotes' new arena.

The Vancouver Canucks won their eighth straight road game Tuesday night, with Naslund scoring two goals and Bertuzzi adding a pair of assists and helping set up a third goal with his work in front of the net in the Canucks' 4-1 victory.

"The guys in this room look to us to lead the team offensively and play smart defensively," Bertuzzi said. "It's important for us to set a good precedent for the other guys to follow."

Vancouver opened the scoring at 6:42 of the first period when Bertuzzi flipped the puck toward Phoenix goalie Brian Boucher from the side of the net. Boucher couldn't control the puck, which bounced off the ice and was batted into the net by Naslund.

Jovanovski made it 2-0 just over three minutes later when he took advantage of Bertuzzi's screen just in front of the crease to beat Boucher from the high slot.

"Brendan (Morrison) and I would like to score some more," Bertuzzi said. "But as long as we're contributing to the offense and Nassy is continuing with the goals, what's there to complain about."

Boucher, making his seventh consecutive start, has allowed three first-period goals and five scores overall in his last two games since recording five consecutive shutouts.

"We lost the game in the first period," Phoenix coach Bob Francis said. "We were flat. We didn't have much emotion. There was just nothing there."

Ed Jovanovski and Daniel Sedin added power-play goals for the Canucks, 6-2-1 in their last nine games overall.

"What we've been talking about is our defenseman have to get their shots through," Vancouver coach Marc Crawford said. "Then if we have the battles we want in front of the net, the goals will get through. Our power-play doesn't need to be complicated."

Naslund earned an assist on Jovanovski's goal and added his team-leading 24th goal, an empty-netter with 34 seconds remaining, to raise his NHL-leading point total to 52.

Sedin scored 1:34 into the third period, one-timing a backhand pass by Jason King.

Brian Savage scored with 15:50 remaining for the Coyotes, whose six-game unbeaten streak was snapped.
