DENVER (AP) -- A fluky goal helped keep the Vancouver Canucks comfortably atop the Northwest Division.
Mike Keane scored with 4:35 left, lifting the Canucks to a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night.
Dan Cloutier had 34 saves for Vancouver, which rallied from a 2-0 deficit.
David Aebischer had 24 saves for Colorado, which got two first-period goals from Steve Konowalchuk.
Trailing 2-1, the Canucks won it with two goals in the third.
Todd Bertuzzi tied it with a power-play goal at 8:48. Bertuzzi scored from just inside the left circle after taking a pass from Brendan Morrison.
Keane got the clincher on a three-on-one break. His centering pass from the right side deflected off Colorado defenseman John-Michael Liles' skate.
"It was a fluky goal, but we'll take it," Keane said. "It went off someone. I just wanted to try to get it in front of the net and hopefully someone would whack at it. The old saying goes: Good things happen when you get it toward the net."
Liles said the puck "took a couple of funny bounces, right off my skate. It was one of those fluky things. There was nothing Aebischer could do."
Colorado pulled Aebischer with 1:56 remaining, but he had to return moments later when Peter Forsberg punched Cloutier and went off for roughing.
"Any time you get down 2-0 and you come back in this building against this team, a lot of good things have to happen," Canucks coach Marc Crawford said. "Danny was really good. That covers up a lot of miscues."
Vancouver was 1-for-5 on the power play and Colorado was 0-for-7.
"They got a power play goal tonight, and we had our chances on the power play and we didn't execute," Avalanche coach Tony Granato said. "Generally in the regular season, the team that wins the specialty battle is going to win the game."
Granato also said Cloutier "made big saves."
Colorado jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on Konowalchuk's goals, but Vancouver's Matt Cooke made it 2-1 late in the period.
Just 17 seconds in, Konowalchuk, stationed in front of the crease, redirected Derek Morris' shot from the right point for his ninth goal.
Konowalchuk then redirected Liles' shot from just inside the blue line at 15:11.
"It's nice when a couple bounce your way," Konowalchuk said.
At 17:29, Cooke corralled a loose puck near center ice and scored a short-handed goal on a breakaway.
Aebischer made a sprawling save off Bertuzzi early in the period.
A scoreless second period included Cloutier's save off Konowalchuk on a two-on-one rush.
