Fresh off rout, Canucks go for clincher against Kings
Vancouver Canucks vs. Los Angeles Kings
CANUCKS at KINGS

(Vancouver leads best-of-seven series, 3-2)

Big Story --
The Canucks have seemingly solved the power play of the Kings, holding them to just one goal in their last eight chances with the man-advantage. With that in check, the Canucks' dominance at 5-on-5 was on full display during Friday's 7-2 win in Game 5.

Team Scope:

Canucks -- The benefit of experience showed up in the aftermath of Game 5, when despite the lopsided outcome, everyone in the Canucks' locker room was well aware that three wins gets you nothing in the playoffs. And the fourth win is always the toughest.

"They're obviously not happy," Mikael Samuelsson said of the Kings. "They are going to come back hungry. That's the thought we should have. We are not taking anything for granted. We got a little carried away with the score, but it doesn't really mean anything. There's still a long way to go for us. We still have the hardest game to win, I think."

Kings -- The benefit of youth might show up in Game 6, where the Kings will need to show the ability to bounce back quickly after a devastating loss.

"It could've been a 3-2 overtime loss or the loss we had, we've just got to forget about it and go," said Kings captain Dustin Brown. "It's one game and we still have an opportunity at home to even the series. Whether it's a 3-2 loss or a 7-2 loss, it's definitely not what we wanted, but we have to move forward."

Who's Hot -- It's hard to find anyone hotter than Samuelsson, who has a League-leading 7 goals in five postseason games. Pavol Demitra has found his game of late, posting 2 goals and 2 assists in his last two games. … For the Kings, Michal Handzus has 3 goals and an assist in his last two games.

Injury Report -- Canucks defensemen Aaron Rome and Nolan Baumgartner are day-to-day. … Kings fourth-line winger Rich Clune appeared to injure his arm during a third-period fight in Game 5 and could miss Game 6.

Stat Pack -- Samuelsson has more goals (7) than the Kings have even-strength goals (6) in the series. … Of the last 20 teams to win Game 5 when a series was tied at 2-2, only three have lost the series.

Puck Drop --
"The big difference was our goaltending. Can't sugar-coat that. Our goaltending wasn't good enough. We screened some of those shots, a couple deflected, but we have to do better in front of him, and he's got to be better himself." -- Kings coach Terry Murray, on goaltender Jonathan Quick.
