LOS ANGELES (AP) - Jonathan Quick made 25 saves, captain Dustin Brown scored two third-period goals and the Los Angeles Kings avenged their first-round playoff loss for the second time in seven days, beating the Vancouver Canucks 4-1 Friday night.

Jarret Stoll and Justin Williams also scored for the Kings, who earned their third win in four games to open the season.

Daniel Sedin scored his fourth goal of the young season with 13:12 to play for the Canucks. Roberto Luongo stopped just 15 shots for Vancouver, which went winless on a two-game trip to southern California.

A year after setting Los Angeles' franchise record for victories by a goalie, Quick has allowed just three goals in his first three starts, which include two wins over Vancouver.

Quick was solid until the final buzzer, with the Kings killing a 5-on-3 disadvantage in the last 26 seconds.

"We know they got a few wins against us at the end of last year, and obviously our guys came in here with a chip on their shoulder," Quick said.

Ryan Smyth had two assists in the latest rematch of the Kings' first playoff appearance in eight years. Vancouver won that series in six games, but Los Angeles also spoiled the Canucks' home opener last Saturday night with a 2-1 shootout victory.

While Los Angeles has high hopes for its season, Vancouver fancies itself a serious Stanley Cup contender despite a fairly unimpressive opening week. The Canucks blew a third-period lead in Anaheim three nights earlier, and they trailed 2-0 heading into the third at Staples Center despite outshooting the Kings 18-10.

Three Stars
JONATHAN QUICK

Jonathan Quick was... well, too quick for the Canucks Friday night, stopping all but one of the 26 shots that came his way.
25 saves

DUSTIN BROWN

Dustin Brown almost had a hat trick scoring the last two goals, but at the very least he put the nails in the coffin against the Canucks.
2 goals, 0 assists, 19:44 TOI, +2 rating

RYAN SMYTH

This veteran showed the kids that he could still play, and logged the second most amount of ice time. He showed Vancouver he could still play too.
0 goals, 2 assists, +3, 23:26 TOI

Los Angeles went ahead just 2:48 in when Stoll deflected Jack Johnson's shot off both the blade and shaft of his stick, somehow getting it inside the far post to beat Luongo. In the second period, defenseman Jake Muzzin fumbled the puck ahead to Williams, who banked a shot off Canucks defenseman Kevin Bieksa's skate and through Luongo's legs.

Vancouver finally scored when reigning league MVP Henrik Sedin hurried down the ice and made a perfect pass to Daniel Sedin, who already has six points in four games. But just 50 seconds later, Brown banged home a pass from Anze Kopitar for his second goal.

Brown added another goal with 7:37 left on a pass from Alexei Ponikarovsky, who got the first point of his first season with the Kings.

NOTES: Muzzin, the 21-year old rookie who surprisingly made the Kings' roster out of training camp, got his first NHL point in his fourth game. He was the OHL's defenseman of the year with Sault Ste. Marie last season. ... D Willie Mitchell spent the past four seasons with the Canucks before signing a two-year deal with Los Angeles in late August. ... Kings D Davis Drewiske's assist on Stoll's goal was his first point since Dec. 31, 2009. ... Actor Vince Vaughn, English power couple David and Victoria Beckham, and reality-show dancer Bristol Palin all attended the game.
