The pre-season is a time to prep and this year it's also a time to say thank you.
The Vancouver Canucks will be hosting heroes who made a difference following Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final throughout the 2011-12 pre-season.
This year the Canucks will be celebrating those with the “Heart of a Canuck"; players, both past and present, and fans who demonstrate values of courage, integrity, honour, humility and passion will be spotlighted throughout the season.
During Vancouver's four pre-season home games, the Canucks will host over 1,000 heroes who courageously stood up during the Stanley Cup riots. Beginning Tuesday, September 20th, the Canucks will host members of the Vancouver Police Department and Royal Canadian Mounted Police; on September 24th Vancouver Firefighters will be in attendance; the following night on September 25th Emergency Workers and First responders, including members of the BC Ambulance/Paramedic association, E-Comm 911 and staff from Vancouver General Hospital and St. Paul's Hospital, will take in the game.
Vancouver's final pre-season game on October 1st is reserved to recognize the volunteers who initiated the clean-up efforts in downtown Vancouver the day after the riots. For this we are looking to give away 100 pairs of tickets to those who participated and made a world of difference.
If you assisted in making downtown Vancouver beautiful again, please share your experience in 100 words or less and attach a photo of you pitching in from June 16th's clean-up.
We will select 100 winners and invite them to the pre-season finale to watch the Canucks take on the Edmonton Oilers.
Please submit your story beginning Monday, September 19th, we will be accepting entries until Monday, September 26th. Winners will be notified shortly after.

Thank you for helping erase the damage and making Vancouver sparkle!
