The Canucks for Kids Fund and BC Children's Hospital share a close relationship. Over the years, the Canucks for Kids Fund has donated more than $1.3 million to BC Children’s Hospital, supporting a variety of areas such as the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Building, the Centre for Research in Childhood Diabetes, an endoscopy operating suite, a playroom for the patients and pediatric emergency care machinery. The recent announcement of a $5 million gift from the Canucks for Kids Fund to the hospital will support diabetes research and the construction of the new BC Children’s Hospital.

This special relationship extends beyond funding; for the past several years, Canucks players, management and employees have participated in the foundation’s annual Jeans Day campaign. Canucks players have been featured on the collateral as well as in radio and TV PSAs . Canucks mascot FIN also participates in the annual Jeans Day barbeque. In addition to supporting the Jeans Day campaign, each year the Canucks make an annual visit to BC Children’s Hospital, meeting the kids and their families prior to the holidays. It’s not only a welcome surprise for the children, but it has a huge impact on our players, who are inspired by the strength and courage demonstrated by these kids.
