The Vancouver Canucks Community Partnerships department and the Canucks for Kids Fund dedicates resources to assist charities who support children's health and wellness, foster the development of grassroots hockey, and facilitate and encourage education in British Columbia. Through a variety of programs in which Canucks players and employees participate, the team joins with Canucks fans and partner sponsors to raise funds and lend support in many ways.
The Canucks Donations in Kind program, for example, donates over $40,000 worth of autographed merchandise to local charities and fundraisers to assist in their fundraising endevours each season. Children who would not otherwise have an opportunity to attend Canucks games are brought to GM Place through the Lui's Crease Club Program.
Low-income families on Vancouver's eastside are provided with free family literacy programming at the Canucks Family Education Centre. And the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey offers hockey camps for players of all ages year-round. These are just a handful of examples of Community programming that the Canucks are proud to offer.
The Canucks for Kids Fund raises awareness and funds through several charitable events including: game night 50/50 draws, Dice & Ice Benefit presented by HSBC, Canucks Superskills presented by McDonald's, and the Canucks for Kids Fund Telethon presented by Chevrolet. Major beneficiaries include Canuck Place, the Canucks Autism Network, and BC Children's Hospital and many other BC children's charities.
