De Bonis has supported some of the most significant corporate partnerships in club history, forging relationships with organizations to provide premium products and services for all events at Rogers Arena and for all programs associated with Canucks Sports & Entertainment. He has also taken a leadership role in enhancing fan experience through a number of innovative programs and recent installations at Rogers Arena.
De Bonis first joined the organization in 1994 as Corporate Controller. At that time, he was responsible for managing the public company’s private placement and new 18,000 seat multi-purpose arena in downtown Vancouver (Rogers Arena, formerly General Motors Place). In his first two years, de Bonis managed the startup of the new arena and the Vancouver Grizzlies NBA franchise, who played their inaugural season in 1995.96.
In 1998, de Bonis was appointed Chief Financial Officer. In this position, he oversaw the sale of the Grizzlies and subsequent relocation to Memphis as well as enterprise sale transactions in 2005 and 2007.
De Bonis graduated from the University of British Columbia and earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1989. Directly following graduation, he began his career at KPMG Chartered Accountants in the corporate audit division of the Vancouver branch. De Bonis served in this capacity for four years, auditing private and public companies in the Hospitality, Broadcasting, Mining, Healthcare and Manufacturing industries, before entering his final role with the organization: forensic accounting specialization. In 1992, he became a chartered accountant, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.
In addition to his professional activities, de Bonis is actively involved with family and community affairs. He currently serves as Vice President on the Canucks for Kids Fund Board. Victor and his wife, Mary, have three children.
