NHL Street
The Vancouver Canucks are proud to support the NHL Street program, a league-wide initiative that allows youth to play the sport of hockey without economic or social barriers.
The NHL Street program has another successful season as it distributed full sets of new street hockey equipment to six deserving recipients. The NHL Street program has been in operation since 1994 and has donated several million dollars worth of equipment and instruction guides to local schools and community progams. There are currently 35 teams/markets participating in the program.
This year, the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey distributed gear to Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs in Fraserview, Kimount, Kivan, North Vancouver, North Burnaby and Langley, serving over 500 youth.
The NHL Street program for the 2012.13 season is currently closed. Please check back next season for more information. Due to the limited amount of street hockey gear, up to 10 organizations are given the opportunity to particiapte each year. All equipment is provided courtesy of the NHL and the Vancouver Canucks.
