| A local boy, born and raised, Stu learned his boyhood hockey here in the Lower Mainland. As a teenager, he followed in the footsteps of John Grisdale and Bob Murray, attending Michigan Tech University on a scholarship. He was selected in the 1976 amateur draft by Vancouver and wound up playing two seasons with the Canucks’ farm clubs in Dallas (CHL) and Fort Wayne (IHL). Always a fleet skater, he enjoyed his finest season with the Komets in 1978-79, scoring 34 goals and 49 assists for 83 points. He wound up his pro career in 1980-81 with Saipa of the Finnish Elite League. An avid member of both the UBC and Canucks alumni hockey teams, Stu works in downtown Vancouver as a stock broker. |
