Pat Quinn to be inducted into Ring of Honour
Vancouver, B.C. \u2013 The Vancouver Canucks are proud to announce that they will celebrate Pat Quinn\u2019s storied career with the franchise by naming him to the Ring of Honour prior to the April 13th game versus the Calgary Flames. Quinn becomes just the fifth inductee, joining Harold Snepsts, Orland Kurtenbach, Kirk McLean and Thomas Gradin.

Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks are proud to announce that they will celebrate Pat Quinn’s storied career with the franchise by naming him to the Ring of Honour prior to the April 13th game versus the Calgary Flames. Quinn becomes just the fifth inductee, joining Harold Snepsts, Orland Kurtenbach, Kirk McLean and Thomas Gradin.

The announcement was made today at BC Place in front of the largest audience to watch a hockey game in BC's history at the 2014 Tim Hortons Heritage Classic. The moment was shared as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the 1994 Stanley Cup Final team of which he was Head Coach and General Manager for the team.

Pat Quinn’s Career:

· Bestowed with the Order of Canada in 2012 in recognition of a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation.

· Served as General Manager of the Vancouver Canucks from 1987.88 to 1997.98 and as Head Coach from 1990.91 to 1993.94 and 1995.96.

· As General Manager, he drafted Trevor Linden and Pavel Bure, and acquired Markus Naslund through trade, who are three of the four players in club history to have their numbers retired.

· Accumulated a record of 141-111-28 during the regular season with Vancouver as a Head Coach, ranking fourth in club history for most wins and third for highest winning percentage.

· Led the Canucks to a record of 31-30 in the postseason, ranking second in club history for most playoff wins and postseason winning percentage.

· Led the team to a Stanley Cup Final Appearance in 1994.

· Won the Jack Adams Award in 1992 for NHL Coach of the Year.

· Spent two seasons with the Canucks as a defenceman (1970-71 to 1971-72), collecting 18 points (4-14-18) in 133 games.

Ring of Honour:

· Launched to celebrate Canucks heroes who have made a lasting impact on the franchise.

· Pat Quinn will become the fifth Canuck to join the ring of honour since its inception in the 2010.11 season.

· Ring of Honour candidates are selected by an advisory committee, including former player and coach and current Senior Advisor to the General Manager, Stan Smyl, Hockey Hall of Fame broadcaster, Jim Robson and former Canucks staff member of over 30 years, Norm Jewison.
