The Utica Comets (0-3-0-0) are still looking for their first win of the season after dropping a 6-4 decision to the Rochester Americans this past weekend.


Weekly Results

Saturday, October 19th: Rochester Americans 6 Utica Comets 4

-Canucks prospect Darren Archibald fought off an Americans defender and was able to snap the puck into the back of the net from the slot for his first of the season. Archibald also picked up an assist in the third period.
-Alexandre Grenier picked up three helpers in the game and led all Comets players with a plus-2 rating.
-Colin Stuart scored once and led all Comets players with nine shots on goal.
-Pascal Pelletier picked up a goal and two assists, giving him six points (2-4-6) in three games so far this season.
-Zach Hamill picked up his first two points of the season after burying a goal and grabbing an assist in the game.
-Joacim Eriksson stopped 20-of-25 shots he faced in net for the Comets.

Comet of the Week

Alex Grenier takes the nod as the Comet of the Week for the second consecutive time. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder picked up three helpers in the loss to Rochester on Saturday and also finished with a team-high plus-2 rating. Through three games this season, the Laval, Quebec native has posted five points (1-4-5) and seven penalty-minutes. Although the Comets are minus-5 in the goal-differential department, Grenier is sitting pretty with a plus-5 rating and has been on the ice for six of the seven goals the Comets have scored this season.


Coming Up...

The Comets will finally play in front of their home crowd on Wednesday night's home opener against the Albany Devils (3-1-0-1) in a rematch from October 12th that saw the Devils prevail with a 3-2 victory.

On Friday, the Comets host the Syracuse Crunch (2-2-1-0) at the Utica Memorial Auditorium and just twenty-four hours later the Comets will welcome their North Division rivals, the Hamilton Bulldogs (1-1-0-2).
