Canucks sign Hansen to 4-year deal
Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed right wing Jannik Hansen to a four-year extension.

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed right wing Jannik Hansen to a four-year extension.

Hansen, 27, collected 27 points (10-17-27) and 12 penalty minutes in 47 games for the Canucks during the 2012.13 season. The Herlev, Denmark native has recorded 131 points (50-81-131) and 131 penalty minutes over the course of 318 NHL games. He has spent his entire six-year NHL career with the Canucks. He received the Fred J. Hume award as the Canucks “Unsung Hero” on two occasions (2013 and 2011) and the Vancouver Canucks “Most Exciting Player” in 2013.

The 6’1”, 197-pound right winger has also appeared in 58 career NHL playoff games, registering 14 points (5-9-14) and 58 penalty minutes. Hansen’s first NHL game was played in the playoffs on April 13, 2007 versus Dallas. He collected his first NHL assist during the series just two days later on April 15, 2007.

On the International stage, Hansen has represented Denmark at the World Championships four times: 2012, 2008, 2006 and 2005. He also played at the World Junior Championships on three occasions: 2006 (Div. 1), 2005 (Div. 1) and 2004 (Div. 1).

Hansen was originally selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the seventh round, 287th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
