Dalpe & Welsh to Van for Tochkin 2014 pick

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have acquired right wing Zac Dalpe and centre Jeremy Welsh from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Kellan Tochkin and the fourth round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Dalpe, 23, split the 2012.13 season between the Hurricanes and Charlotte Checkers of the AHL. With Carolina, the 6’1”, 195-pound right winger posted three points (1-2-3) in ten games played. He also recorded 42 points (21-21-42) and 12 penalty minutes in 54 games with Charlotte. The Paris, Ontario native has played in 41 NHL games, registering 10 career points (5-5-10).

Welsh, 25, played in five games, recording one assist with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2012.13. He also appeared in 69 games, collecting 26 points 14-12-26, with Charlotte last season. The 6’3”, 210-pound Bayfield, Ontario native has played in six career NHL games.
