Canucks Report: Schneider starts?

Rocky Mountain practice day

The Vancouver Canucks practiced at the Pepsi Center Friday afternoon and all hands were on deck, including Cory Schneider.

Schneider said he is feeling worlds better and is almost completely over the bug that bit in Calgary forcing the emergency call-up of netminder Dustin Butler; Schneider confirmed that if he’s feeling good in the morning, he’ll start in net Saturday against the Colorado Avalanche.

Vancouver’s top two lines had a bit of a different look during practice as Jannik Hansen slotted in with Daniel and Henrik Sedin on the top line, moving Alex Burrows to the second line with Ryan Kesler and Zack Kassian.

Coach Alain Vigneault said that with Chris Higgins out of the line-up indefinitely, the team is working through some different options. AV did not tip his hat as to what the Canucks line-up will look like Saturday.

The power play got some work late in practice and it too had been tinkered with. The top unit had Kesler with the Sedins and Alex Edler and Jason Garrison on the point, while the second five-some featured Hansen, Burrows Derek Roy, Kevin Bieksa and Dan Hamhuis.
