Canucks Assign Nicklas Jensen to Wolves
Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Michael D. Gillis announced today that the Canucks have assigned forward Nicklas Jensen to the AHL Chicago Wolves.
Jensen, 20, recorded 23 points (17-6-23) in 50 games with AIK Stockholm of the Swedish Elite League in 2012.13. He led AIK and all SEL rookies in goal scoring and finished tied for 11th for most goals scored in the SEL.
In six AHL regular season games with the Wolves in 2011.12, he recorded four goals and six penalty minutes. He posted two goals in two playoff games with the Wolves.
The 6’3” forward registered 116 points (54-62-116) and 71 penalty minutes in 118 games with the OHL Oshawa Generals from 2010-2012. Jensen tied for the team lead in goals (7) during the 2011 playoffs.
On the international stage, the Herning, Denmark, native helped Denmark win the Division I 2011 World Junior Championship.
Jensen was selected by Vancouver in the first round, 29th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
