The Goods: Sed and done
Canucks shoot down Stars, bump slump
Henrik Sedin's second goal of the season, scored off a perfect give-and-go passing play with Alex Burrows early in the third period, stood as the game-winner as the Vancouver Canucks beat the Dallas Stars 4-3 Thursday night at American Airlines Center.
The Canucks flew out of the gates - sorry, flopped out of the gates giving up a goal just 35 seconds into the first period. Luckily that was not a sign of how the game would play out. Burrows evened the score on the power play midway through the frame and the game remained tied after 20 minutes.
The Stars took a 2-1 lead early in the second, but that was the final time Dallas would hold an edge on the scoreboard. Kevin Bieksa scored a brilliant 4-on-4 partial breakaway goal to tie it at 2-2 to end the second and in the third Jason Garrison tallied 2:32 in before Henrik netted the winner less than two minutes later.
Dallas made it a 4-3 game, but the Canucks held on for their first regulation win in four outings.
Vancouver is back at it Friday night in Nashville before playing in Detroit Sunday to end the four-game road trip.
