Canucks Hockey School returns for 2013
Vancouver, BC - The Vancouver Canucks announced today the return of their summer hockey school in 2013. The camp will feature programs for players aged 7-14 and will offer three one-week sessions beginning August 4, 2013. Camps will once again be held at the Surrey Sport and Leisure Centre.
The Canucks Hockey School is operated by the Okanagan Hockey School (OHS), the longest running hockey school in the world. Both the Canucks and OHS share a philosophy that places an emphasis on providing professional instruction in a safe, fun and structured environment.
Players and staff from the Canucks, as well as the popular Canucks mascot, Fin, will once again be visiting the 2013 Vancouver Canucks Hockey School to sign autographs and answer questions from the participants.
The mission of the Canucks Hockey School is to provide top quality hockey instruction in a supportive environment that allows for development and refinement of each individual player’s ability. This is accomplished by placing emphasis on individual skill development on the core fundamentals of the game along with the importance of fitness and character.
“We want young athletes to join us this summer for a great camp experience while playing the world’s greatest sport,” says Michael D. Gillis, President and General Manager, Canucks Sports & Entertainment. “Being safe, making new friends and learning new skills is what this camp is all about.”
