THE CANUCKS WIN IF...
|
DANIEL SEDIN
If he manages to get on the scoresheet tonight, he'll equal his second-best point streak to start a season at five games. He still has a long ways to go to match his all-time best point streak to start a season which is nine games set back during the 2010.11 campaign. Daniel was relatively quiet in the season series against the Sharks last year netting just one goal in four outings. He has notched nine goals and 28 points in 43 career games versus San Jose all-time. |
PATRICK MARLEAU
The 33-year-old's numbers are not only impressive, they're history-making as well. Marleau has notched two goals in each of his four games played this season making him just the second player in NHL history to have four consecutive multi-goal games to begin a season. Ottawa's Cy Denneny was the first to do so back in 1917.18. Marleau has a chance tonight to become the first player since Alex Mogilny in 1992.93 to record five multi-goal games in a row. Marleau has 21 goals and 39 points in 56 career games against the Canucks. He had two goals and three points in last year's season series. |

@BradZiemer
- Marleau and Thornton have combined for 22 points in 4 games. That's the same number all of the #Canucks forwards have in their first 4 games.@kitshigh
- Canucks played so well last night I'm thinking of buying the team. Or Bieksa. Okay, just his jersey.@canuckmekesler
- Problem: Canucks lose & I am too depressed to do anything productive, Canucks win & I watch highlights repeatedly for the rest of the night.Mason Raymond's two-goal effort on Friday against the Ducks was his first multi-goal outing in nearly two years. The last time he found the net more than once in a single outing was back on April 7, 2011 at Rogers Arena in a 5-0 Canucks win over the Wild.
If Raymond manages to score again tonight, he would equal a career-high goal streak at three games. The last time he scored in three straight games was from December 10 to 14, 2009.
