PrintVancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks President and General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have recalled centre Jordan Schroeder from the Chicago Wolves. Defenceman Jim Vandermeer has been re-assigned to Chicago.
Schroeder, 22, has recorded 19 points (9-10-19) in 30 games with the Wolves this season. In 178 AHL games, he has compiled 100 points (44-56-100) and 36 penalty minutes.
Vandermeer, 32, has played in 461 NHL games, recording 105 points (25-80-105) and 664 penalty minutes. The 6’1”, 208 lbs. defenceman split the 2011.12 season with the Edmonton Oilers (2-12-14 in 62 games played) and San Jose Sharks (1-3-4 in 25 games played). In 21 playoff contests, he has registered two assists and 17 penalty minutes.
