Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have acquired right wing
Zack Kassian and defenceman
Marc-Andre Gragnani from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for centre Cody Hodgson and defenceman Alexander Sulzer.
Kassian, 21, has recorded seven points (3-4-7) and 20 penalty minutes in 27 games with the Buffalo Sabres this season. The 6’3”, 214 lbs. right wing has registered 26 points (15-11-26) in 30 games with the AHL Rochester Americans. A native of Windsor, ON, Kassian was originally selected 13th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by Buffalo.
Gragnani, 24, has tallied 12 points (1-11-12) and 20 penalty minutes in 44 games with the Sabres this season. In 59 NHL games, the 6’2”, 201 lbs. defenceman has recorded 15 points (2-13-15) and is plus-10 for goals scored at even strength. The Montreal, QC, native was originally selected 87th overall by Buffalo in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
