Mackenzie minor hockey player dream shoot
Mackenzie minor hockey player models with Daniel Sedin for Superskills.
One lucky minor hockey player from Mackenzie, BC had the opportunity to come down to Rogers Arena for an unforgettable experience. Kris Paulson, 14, and his family drove over 13 hours to spend 2 days at the rink and experience what every kid dreams of.
Every year prior to the Superskills event, a minor hockey player is given the unique opportunity to represent BC Minor Hockey alongside a Vancouver Canuck. Through a contest involving Mackenzie Minor Hockey, Kris was chosen to be the poster boy for this seasons Superskills competition.
Kris arrived to the rink early Tuesday morning before taking the ice with Canuck assistant captain Daniel Sedin. After a brief skate, Kris and Daniel got together for some photos in anticipation of the 2012 Canucks Superskills competition.
Following the photo session, Kris and his family took in the Canucks practice before heading down to the bowels of Rogers Arena to meet with some his Canucks heroes.
The following morning, Kris and his family returned to the rink for an exclusive tour of Rogers Arena before sitting down to watch both the Canucks and Blackhawks game day skates. Not only was it exciting to see all of the Canucks stars take the ice, but seeing the likes of Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Seabrook, and Keith up close was a thrill as well.
Following the skates, Kris headed to the Canucks dressing room for a visit which provided a perfect backdrop for some more photos. Later that day, the Paulson family returned to the rink to take in the Canucks game versus the Chicago Blackhawks. It was well worth the drive for Kris who left Vancouver with an experience that he will never forget.
