The Canucks recalled Matt Climie from Chicago to back up Cory Schneider in net tonight. Climie, 28, has appeared in seven games for the Chicago Wolves this season, posting a record of 5-2-0 and goals against average of 2.16.
Schneider gets his seventh start of the season in the Canucks 20th game of the season. It wasn't until December 26th last year that Schneider started in seven games.
This is the first time Schneider will face the Senators. He's 2-2-2 lifetime against teams in the Eastern Conference.
Alex Edler arrived at the rink with back issues in the morning and will be a game-time decision tonight.
Keith Ballard was the other missing body at the skate, continuing to recover his back. Andrew Alberts will draw back in for him.
