Coaching day in BC to be held on November 20, 2011
Vancouver, BC – The Vancouver Canucks are proud to announce that the ninth annual Coaching Day in BC, presented by Tim Hortons, will be held on Sunday, November 20th from 7:00am to 12:30pm. The event will take place at Rogers Arena in conjunction with Tim Hortons, BC Hockey, Hockey Canada, and the Ottawa Senators.
Coaching Day in BC is a free event offered to all coaches from minor hockey and other leagues in British Columbia. The event recognizes the important contribution coaches make to hockey programs throughout the province. Participants will be offered on and off ice seminars from special guests in the hockey community including Vancouver Canucks coach Alain Vigneault. Coaches will also receive a take-home resource manual, and the chance to win great prizes including a game night experience in the fully catered Avaya Champions Club suite, signed apparel, and tickets to future games.
An instructional session led by BC hockey course conductors and local minor hockey coaches will demonstrate valuable coaching techniques, drills, and goaltending strategies. Coaches will then see how the pros do it during the Vancouver Canucks game-day skate led by Head Coach Alain Vigneault, and the Ottawa Senators game-day skate led by Head Coach Paul MacLean.
