Canucks claim Dale Weise off waivers

Weise, 23, split the 2010.11 season between the New York Rangers and Connecticut Whale. The 6’2”, 210-pound forward appeared in 10 games for the Rangers, collecting 19 penalty minutes. In 47 games with the Whale, Weise recorded 38 points (18-20-38) and 73 penalty minutes. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native also played in five playoff games last season with the Whale, registering three points (2-1-3) and eight penalty minutes in five games played.
Weise was originally selected by the Rangers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft in the fourth round, 111th overall.
