Young Stars Live-Blog: Day 7

Welcome to the blog, my name is Derek Jory and I'll be your word slinger throughout the 2011 Young Stars Tournament. I'll use this space to keep you up-to-date like no one else on crucial must-know information from Penticton, BC, such as: how sandy the beach is, if the Ogopogo has a moustache or not and how my fantasy football team (The Brady Punch) is coming together. Oh, and some stuff about hockey too - if there's time.
If you've got any questions, comments, complaints or if any Nigerian kings need my help to access a large sum of money in a foreign bank account, money that we would then split 50/50, email me. I'll also be live-tweeting every Vancouver Canucks Young Stars game via @CanucksGame, where zany is served up, free of charge, 140 characters at a time.
Let's do this.

9:27 a.m. --One final prospects game and it's time for main camp. Vancouver plays Winnipeg today at 11:30 a.m., then we'll boot back to Vancity to sleep fast and prep for the beginning of main camp Friday morning. Good times.
10:53 a.m. -- My biggest fear is coming true as I type this. Grease Lightning, or whatever that terrible song is, is being played as fans file into the rink to watch the Canucks vs. Jets. Never, not ever never, should this song be anywhere near a hockey rink. Let the record show that I volunteered my iPod to improve the music at the rink. Sheesh!
10:57 a.m. -- I just realized it still says Wednesday, September 14, 2011, as the header on this live-blog. My mind is officially fried from lack of sleep. But I thought you went to bed early last night Derek? Nope, I got sucked into a marathon of Storage Wars. Was it good? Yuuuuuup!
12:21 p.m. -- End of the first and the Jets hold a 1-0 lead. More importantly, I just did a tour of the bowl to see who fans were supporting and it was Winnipeg in a landslide. Jerseys everywhere. Nuts.
1:27 p.m. -- With only 7:19 to play in the third period and Winnipeg up 2-0, it looks like the Jets might hang on for the win. On another note, there are carrots as snacks in the press box. Awesome.
3:00 p.m. -- The Canucks finish the 2011 Young Stars Tournament at 2-2 after a 2-0 loss to the Jets.
3:05 p.m. -- That's a wrap on the 2011 Young Stars Tournament. I can't thank the South Okanagan Events Centre and it's staff, the city of Penticton and it's lovely people more for the outstanding hospitality. It's been a hoot!
