Canucks Report: Playoff prep

PLAYOFF PREP
By Joey Kenward, Team 1040
The Canucks had a full practice today at Rogers Arena in preparation for opening up their first round playoff series against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Cody Hodgson and Victor Oreskovich have been recalled from the Manitoba Moose and based on practice today, they both could draw into the opening night line-up. Hodgson was centering a line between Mason Raymond and Jannik Hansen while Oreskovich was skating on the right side on a line with Tanner Glass and Maxim Lapierre.
Mikael Samuelsson did not skate this morning as he was not feeling well. He's expected to be back on the ice tomorrow. Sameulsson leads all Canucks in NHL playoff experience. In 81 career games, Samuelsson has scored 21 goals and added 29 assists. Taking his place today on a line with Chris Higgins and Ryan Kesler was Raffi Torres. That likely means Jeff Tambellini will be a healthy scratch to open up the playoffs.
All eight Canucks defencemen skated today. Based on how the pairings looked today, the odd men out to open the series very well could be Aaron Rome and Andrew Alberts.
The Hawks don’t arrive in Vancouver until late this afternoon and are expected to practice here tomorrow.
