Canucks sign forward Raffi Torres

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed forward Raffi Torres. In keeping with club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Torres, 28, split the 2009-10 season with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Buffalo Sabres. He registered 31 points (19-12-31) in 60 games with Columbus and five points (0-5-5) with Buffalo. He collected two points (0-2-2) and 12 penalty minutes in four playoff games with Buffalo.
The 6’0”, 218 lbs. left winger has registered 182 points (98-84-182) and 312 penalty minutes in 432 games played with the New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Buffalo Sabres.
The Toronto, ON native played for Team Canada at the 2001 World Junior Championships, registering five points (3-2-5) in seven games and helping Canada capture the bronze medal. He was originally drafted fifth overall in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Islanders.
