Reid Report: On to Boston
Kristin Reid shares stories from the road as the Canucks embark on the longest trip in NHL history.
The Canucks flew into Boston post-game Thursday night after a 3-1 loss to the Sens and the mood was significantly different than it has been the past month.
The trip started out on a really big high with a major comeback win against Toronto but the team has suffered two straight losses in Montreal and Ottawa, respectively so they'll be excited for tomorrow's matinee game.
Despite the struggles Boston's been having this season, they're still as tough defensively as they always are, especially with Zdeno Chara on their blueline - scary. The Canucks scored five against the Leafs but just three total in their two losses - and barely scored their lone goal in Ottawa so it's not going to be an easy one, even though the two teams' records look so different.
The team is practicing at Boston University, where they watched the BU team skate drills and then the BU boys watched the Canucks. Jeff's got pics on the way.
The Celtics are taking over the TD Garden for a game tonight and then it'll be a quick turnaround for an early Bruins game in the afternoon (1:00 EST).
Rumour has it that chowder is on the menu tonight and why not... while in Boston, right?
Kristin, Rory, and Jeff have just one more day on the trip before saying good-bye to the team and heading on their way. But don't worry, still lots of good stuff coming from Boston and they'll be back after the Olympics.
