Alex Burrows named NHL's first star
| Burrows |
Burrows started the week by recording consecutive hat tricks on January 5 versus Columbus and January 7 versus Phoenix. He became the first NHL player to record back-to-back hat tricks in successive games since Ilya Kovalchuk (November 1st & 3rd, 2007) and is the third player to record back-to-back hat tricks in franchise history (Petri Skriko - November 18th & 21st [4 goals], 1986, Bobby Schmautz - November 17th &19th [4 goals], 1972). In three games played this week, Burrows notched seven points (6-1-7), including the game-winning goal against the Coyotes on January 7.
Hiller capped a 4-0-0 week with a 42-save performance in Chicago on Sunday, leading the Ducks to a 3-1 win on a night they managed only 12 shots. For the week, he allowed just six goals on 131 shots.
Garon won all three of his starts, allowing four goals on 74 shots and capping his week with a 26-save 2-0 shutout of Dallas on Sunday night.
