Sami Salo named to Finnish Olympic Team

Vancouver, B.C. – Finland’s 2010 Men’s Olympic Hockey team announced today that Vancouver Canucks defenceman Sami Salo has been named to Team Finland’s roster for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Salo, 35, has eight points (3-5-8) and eight penalty minutes in 33 games played with Vancouver this season. Through 630 career NHL games, Salo has recorded 75 goals, 178 assists (75-178-253) and 218 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 215 pound native of Turku, Finland has made 62 post-season appearances, recording 20 points (8-12-20) and 12 penalty minutes. Salo represented Finland in the 2002 and 2006 Olympic Winter games.
