CANUCKS COMEBACK
After a slow start, the Canucks found themselves down 2-0 midway through the third yesterday against the Sharks, but Mason Raymond got the offense flowing at 7:22 of the third beating Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov thanks to a juicy rebound left from Yann Sauve’s shot from the slot.
Alex Edler tied the game at 13:26 and prospect Tanner Glass netted the go-ahead-goal at 18:51, but Shark Rob Blake again tied the score at 18:51 of the third forcing overtime. With nothing solved, the game headed to the shootout, where the Canucks clinched the win 4-3.
PERFECT IN THE PRE-SEASON
The Canucks keep their undefeated streak alive improving their pre-season record to an impressive 6-0.
“There’s a lot of optimism in this city, but we’ve got a long way to go,” said defenseman Shane O’Brien. “If anything, it just shows how deep of an organization we have, how good of a job Mike and all of the scouts have done bringing in guys. You can’t look too much into it but we definitely have a confident swagger in here, but we know it’s not going to be easy. We’re just looking forward to game one. Get a few more exhibition games under our belt then, be ready to go for Calgary.”
“It feels good, obviously, confidence-wise,” said Mikael Samuelsson on their pre-season stats.
