Canucks report - Still questionable

Salo
STILL QUESTIONABLE

Sami Salo took the morning skate with the team this morning but his status for game five is still uncertain and will be a game-time decision.

Salo's missed the last two games after sustaining a lower body injury May 2 at GM Place. He missed one game in the Canucks first playoff series against the St. Louis Blues but in five playoff games this year, he has six points (3-3-6).

While speculation of a serious injury surrounded Kevin Bieksa after a noticeable limp in game four in Chicago, he maintains the injury not serious and will dress for tonight's tilt.

HOME SWEET HOME

With the series returning home to Vancouver, the Canucks know this is a big game to have the lead with game six going back to Chicago Monday night.

Each team took a game out of the other's building and home-ice has essentially been erased but with the GM Place being the setting for potentially two of the next three, being home will make a difference.

"This is what we worked all year for is to get home-ice, said Bieksa. "In the first few games of the series, it's really important and once we're deep in the series like this, we have the last two of three here, it's huge."

The Canucks are 24-12-5 at home this regular season and the Hawks are an impressive 24-9-8 at the United Center. Their road records are nearly as similar with Vancouver posting a 21-15-5 and Chicago going 22-15-4 on the road this season.

"I think we'll all have that extra energy being home so we're looking to feed off the fans for sure tonight," said Darcy Hordichuk, who scored his first NHL playoff goal Thursday night. "It's always tough to be in somebody else's building so hopefully it'll be tough for Chicago."

"It's nice to have the fans back but we need to try to keep it tight. I think we've got to be strong defensively and if we're good defensively, then we'll get chances offensively."

Luc Bourdon charity tee

Commemorative Luc Bourdon t-shirts available at the Canucks team store at tonight's game. Net proceeds from the sale of the LB Charity Tee will be donated to the Luc Bourdon Memorial Fund. More
