Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have renewed their affiliation agreement with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League through 2011-12.

“We have enjoyed a great relationship with Manitoba over the past eight years and are pleased to announce our renewed affiliation,” said Lorne Henning, Vancouver Canucks Vice President, Player Personnel & Assistant General Manager. “The Manitoba Moose have played a large part in developing a number of Canucks, including the likes of Alex Burrows and Ryan Kesler. The two organizations have worked closely to ensure our goals are one in the same and we are very proud to continue to develop this strong relationship.”

The Manitoba Moose franchise was established in 1996 after being relocated from St. Paul, Minnesota. In 2001 Manitoba joined the AHL and became affiliated with the Canucks. Under the direction of Head Coach Scott Arniel, the Moose are currently first in the North division and lead the entire league in points (91).

The Canucks and Moose originally announced their partnership June 5, 2001.
