February 2, 2008 brought the Vancouver Canucks Alumni to 100 Mile House to play a charity game against Conservation Officers from around the province. The teams played an entertaining game in front of a sell-out crowd at the South Cariboo Rec Centre with the final score reading 15-8 in favor of the alumni.
An excited Conservation team played with ease with help from all the one ice antics provided by the alumni, including a pie in the face for Darcy MacPhee who scored the first goal of the game and was the head organizer of the event. The game not only provided great entertainment, but also raised funds for various local charities.
Darcy MacPhee and their committee provided the Alumni with great hospitality and the team would like the pass a thank you for the effort put in to making the game such a successful event. “We are used to people rolling out the red carpet for us, but this was a mighty thick carpet!” Chris Oddleifson said. Chris played for the Vancouver Canucks from 1974 through to the end of his career in 1981. Chris served as team captain during the 1976-77 season and had a record of 85-180-265 in 469 games in a Vancouver jersey.
