Lucky Canuck fans lined up on the concourse of GM Place Saturday, January 19th to get an autograph and pose for a picture with Canuck Alumni Dave Babych. Dave began his NHL career with the Winnipeg Jets in 1980-81. His 19-year NHL career had him play with the Harford Whalers following his time with the Jets before bringing him to Vancouver in 1991-92.
During his 7 seasons with the Canucks, Dave played a total of 469 games, and this steady blue-liner held a record of 32-140-172. During the Canucks ride to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1994-95, Dave provided 3 goals and 8 points. The Boston Pizza traveling Canucks Alumni travel throughout the province playing in local charity games throughout the year.
The next Alumni game will take place January 25th 2008 versus the SFU Hockey Team at Bill Copeland Arena. Following games will be played in 100 Mile House and Campbell River.
