Canucks alumni to play against Campbell River Old Timers The Vancouver Canucks Alumni will be travelling to Campbell River to play in a charity game against the Campbell River Old Timers on Feb 17 in the Rod Brind'Amour Arena, Strathcona Gardens Campbell River.

The Campbell River Oldtimers Hockey Club (CROT) was formed at the beginning of the 1974-75 hockey season and was the first team in BC to register with the Canadian Oldtimers Hockey Association (COHA) which is now called the Canadian Adult Recreational Hockey Association (CARHA).

Since the Campbell River Oldtimers Hockey Club was formed 33 years ago, the Club has been involved in many different types of fund raising from selling fire wood to “Shoot For A Cure” raffle tickets. The CROT’s main fund raising now consists of the popular Annual Hockey Tournament, Annual Superbowl and New Years Party as well as the Annual Golf Tournament. The money raised at these events help support local Charities in Campbell River and the Club. The Club donates annually between $3000 and $5000 to such local Charities as the CR Salvation Army, CR Hospice Society, CR Hospital Foundation, CR Special Olympics and CR Minor Hockey to name a few.

The money raised from this event will be donated to the Campbell River Minor Hockey Association.

Tickets are available for $12 and can be purchased at the Campbell River Minor Hockey Office,Action Source for Sports and Island Fever Travel.
