Canucks Re-assign Centre Rick Rypien
Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that centre Rick Rypien has been reassigned to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.

Rypien, 23, played in seven games for the Canucks in 2007-08, recording two points (1-1-2) and 18 penalty minutes. He also appeared in one game for the Moose, registering two penalty minutes.

Last season, Rypien split last season between the Canucks and Moose. The Coleman, Alberta native recorded five penalty minutes in two NHL games and, in 14 AHL games, registered six points (3-3-6) and 35 penalty minutes. He missed the duration of the season due to injury.

The 5’11”, 184-pound centre originally signed with the Canucks as a free agent on Nov. 9, 2005.
