VANCOUVER, B.C.- The Vancouver Canucks, in partnership with McDonald’s, is announcing the McDonald’s® In The Line Up™ program for the 2007-08 season to honour and foster the growth of minor hockey in British Columbia. Prior to each home game this season, one minor hockey player, aged eight to thirteen, will be provided with the rare opportunity to lead the Vancouver Canucks on to the ice for the pre-anthem skate and stand with the starting line-up for the national anthem(s).

Each skater chosen will receive four complimentary tickets to that night’s game, dinner for four at McDonald’s, a McDonald’s® In The Line Up™ commemorative armband, a signed letter from Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Nonis and a CD with photos capturing the event.

The Vancouver Canucks dedicate resources to support BC Minor Hockey through the Canucks Centre for BC Hockey. The Canucks Centre for BC Hockey, supported by the Canucks for Kids Fund, provides a direct tie between the club and hockey communities throughout the province with an emphasis on grassroots hockey development of players, coaches, officials, administrators and parents. The Canucks Centre for BC Hockey is a partnership between the Vancouver Canucks, BC Hockey and Hockey Canada.

McDonald’s Canada’s involvement in Canadian hockey spreads from grassroots to glory. McDonald’s supports teams and players from house league Pre-Tyke all the way to the NHL, including the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers.
