Zipcar And Canucks Launch Drive For Kids
Program gives fans opportunity to drive in team colours and give back to children

Vancouver, B.C.: September 5, 2007 - The Canucks for Kids Fund and Zipcar today announced the launch of Canucks Drive for Kids. Through this program, five Zipcars wrapped in the new Canucks sweater design will hit the streets of Vancouver to raise funds for Canucks for Kids Fund initiatives across the province. Fans will have the opportunity to drive the cars through Zipcar’s car sharing program, while doing their part to support programs in the community.

“We are excited to be a partner with Zipcar through Canucks Drive for Kids Program,” said Chris Zimmerman, President and CEO, Vancouver Canucks. “Our organization views this program as a great opportunity to give back to our community by raising funds for children’s programs and improving environmental standards through car sharing.”

Zipcar is a leading urban lifestyle brand available to Vancouverites. Zipcar provides an alternative to car ownership to more than 120,000 consumer and business drivers worldwide. “At Zipcar, we know how passionate Canucks fans are about their team,” said AnnMarie MacKinnon, Marketing Manager, Zipcar. “We wanted to harness that passion to give back to the community. Zipcar supports community initiatives in the Lower Mainland. The Canucks Drive for Kids is a great opportunity to share our interest in children’s charities.”

The cars will be available to Zipcar members year round, and for every hour that they are on the road, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Canucks for Kids Fund. Over the last two decades the Fund has granted over 23 million dollars to charities in British Columbia.

The Canucks for Kids Fund Zipcars have been autographed by player such as Markus Naslund, Roberto Luongo and Willie Mitchell and will be parked throughout downtown Vancouver, with two “living” at General Motors Place. Hockey fans interested in zipping around in a Canucks Drive for Kids car can visit www.zipcar.com/canucksforkids.for more information and to sign up for a membership.
