Canucks Recall Alexander Edler
| Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have recalled defenceman Alexander Edler from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
Edler, 21, has played in 22 regular season games with the Canucks this season, recording three points (1-2-3) and six penalty minutes. In 49 regular season games with the Manitoba Moose this season, he has registered 26 points (5-21-26) and 28 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in three playoff games with Manitoba.
The 6'3", 220 lbs. native of Ostersund, Sweden was selected by Vancouver 91st overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Edler played 62 games with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL in 2005-06 racking up 13 goals, 40 assists and 44 penalty minutes in his first season of Canadian junior hockey.
Edler finished fifth in scoring amongst defencemen in the WHL. In 12 post-season games with Kelowna, he ended up with three goals and five assists for eight points and 12 penalty minutes.
