There's enough talk about the tight Northwest division and power-plays so we decided to take the players away from the rink to find out a little more beyond the game. Go Offside with Brent Sopel.

What is the best concert you've been to?

A couple of Metallica concerts when I was younger and Nickelback, which is the most recent one.

What is the best advice your parents have given you?

None. (laughs)

What is a question you always get asked?

What do you eat?

What do you eat?

Normal food just like everybody else.

Who on the team would you choose to be your partner on the Amazing Race?

I'd choose Mattias Ohlund - he's been a buddy of mine for years and he makes me laugh everyday so I figure I'd need some laughs along the way. I'm sure we'd get lost but we'll definitely have some fun while we're doing it.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Slow drivers!

What is your favourite TV show?

Nancy Grace, it's all about what's going on in the world and situations that unfortunately happen, murders and kidnappings and stuff like that.

If you could choose one person, who would you choose to have dinner with?

George W. Bush - I'm into politics and I follow that side of things so I wouldn't mind sitting down with him and having a little dinner with him. I've spent most of my time in the United States to date - that's where my wife's from, my kids are from and that's where I've been for how many years now so I've been following that side more than the Canadian side.

What is the most important thing you've learned in pro sports?

I've learned a lot, not only about playing pro sports but about myself. It's a tough game, you have to be focused when you get to the rink and it's a job. Some people don't see it as a job but I have kids I have to feed. I've learned to be immensely prepared for situations.

What is the last book you read?

I read the bible on a regular basis.

What would your autobiography be called?

Crazy Life.

If you could choose a super power, what would you choose?

My son always talks about this, about what he'd choose, ice. He and I talk about this all the time.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

Usually I've got my kids picking and pointing at me to get up so usually I have to get up and start getting ready for school and making breakfast. They're my alarm clock in the morning.
