Canucks Re-assign Defenceman Alexander Edler
Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that defenceman Alexander Edler has been re-assigned to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.

Edler, 20, has played in 21 games with the Canucks this season, recording three points (1-2-3) and six penalty minutes. He returns to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL, where he has appeared in 41 games, registering 23 points (5-18-23) and 24 penalty minutes.

The 6'3", 220 lbs. native of Ostersund, Sweden was selected by Vancouver 91st overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Personal
Edler played 62 games with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL in 2005-06 racking up 13 goals, 40 assists and 44 penalty minutes in his first season of Canadian junior hockey.

Edler finished fifth in scoring amongst defencemen in the WHL. In 12 post-season games with Kelowna, he ended up with three goals and five assists for eight points and 12 penalty minutes.
