Canucks Re-Assign Nathan Smith
Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have re-assigned centre Nathan Smith to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.

Smith, 25, appeared in one game with the Canucks this season against the Minnesota Wild, logging 8:45 of ice-time and winning six of nine face-offs. The Strathcona, Alberta native returns to Manitoba where he has played in 58 games with the Moose this season, recording 34 points (16-18-34) and 70 penalty minutes.

In the 2005-06 season, Smith played in 20 games for the Manitoba Moose, netting nine points (5-4-9) and 57 penalty minutes. He also saw action in one game with the Vancouver Canucks.

The Strathcona, Alberta native has appeared in a total of three career NHL games, all with the Canucks. The 6'2", 206 lbs. centre was Vancouver's first choice, 23rd overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
