Canucks Re-Assign Alexander Edler
Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that defenceman Alexander Edler has been re-assigned to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.

Edler, 20, has played 16 games with the Canucks this season, recording two points (1-1-2) and is a plus three. Edler was selected by Vancouver 91st overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The 6'3", 220 lbs. native of Ostersund, Sweden recorded his first NHL point, an assist, versus Dallas in his second career game.

In 24 games for the Moose this season he has recorded 15 points (3-12-15) and 10 penalty minutes.

Personal
Edler played 62 games with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL in 2005-06 racking up 13 goals, 40 assists and 44 penalty minutes in his first season of Canadian junior hockey.

Edler finished fifth in scoring amongst defencemen in the WHL. In 12 post-season games with Kelowna, he ended up with three goals and five assists for eight points and 12 penalty minutes.
