Canucks Recall Defenceman Alexander Edler
Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have recalled defenceman Alexander Edler from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.

Edler, 20, played 12 games with the Canucks earlier this season, including his first career NHL game at Colorado on November 4th.

In the 12 games with Vancouver, Edler recorded two points (1-1-2) and four penalty minutes. The 6'3", 220 lbs. native of Ostersund, Sweden recorded his first NHL point, an assist, versus Dallas in his second career game.

In 24 games for the Moose this season he has recorded15 points (3-12-15) and 10 penalty minutes.

Edler was selected by Vancouver 91st overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Played 62 games with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL racking up 13 goals, 40 assists and 44 penalty minutes in his first season of Canadian junior hockey.

Edler finished fifth in scoring amongst defencemen in the WHL. In 12 post-season games, he ended up with three goals and five assists for eight points and 12 penalty minutes.
