Canucks Recall Defenceman Alexander Edler

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that the Canucks have recalled defenceman Alexander Edler from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. Edler will join the Canucks on their road trip in Colorado. Edler, 20, has played in 10 games for the Moose this season recording two assists and six penalty minutes. He also appeared in three games during the pre-season with Vancouver, recording two assists. Last season Edler played for the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League where he recorded 53 points (13-40-53) and 44 penalty minutes in 62 games.
The 6'3", 220 lbs. native of Ostersund, Sweden, was selected 91st overall in the 2004 Entry Draft.
