Brendan Morrison at HSBC Childrun
06/04/06
On Sunday, June 4th, Vancouver Canuck Brendan Morrison joined hundreds of participants at the HSBC Childrun. The event raised over $350,000 for the Oncology Department at BC Children's Hospital. Funds raised through the HSBC Childrun are vital to providing life-saving care and improved treatments specifically designed for kids with cancer.
Morrison introduced the race and spoke on the importance of Children's Hospital to the team, and how he wished he could have participated in the race. "I would like to be out there running with you but I'm on the injured list. Your efforts today go a long way to helping kids in need across our Province. On behalf of the players and the Vancouver Canucks I'd like to say that Children's Hospital holds a special place in our hearts. BC Children's Hospital has helped millions of children in BC and we are here so that we can help children in the future."
This year's event was extremely successful and will go a long way to learn more about childhood cancer with the goal of finding a cure.
