On Monday, April 10th the Canucks for Kids Fund hosted their 16th annual Canucks for Kids Fund Telethon presented by Chevrolet in support of Canuck Place Children's Hospice. The Telethon took place during the Canucks game versus the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and was broadcast live on CKNW with the support of Kevin Hayes, Tom Larscheid and John Shorthouse. Sportsnet also carried the event with hosts Christine Simpson, Don Taylor and Craig MacEwen. The wives and significant others of Canucks players and management, as well as Vancouver Canucks alumni, answered phone calls on the celebrity phone panel. Over 150 Telus volunteers also manned calls and took pledges from the Telus call centre in Burnaby. General Motors of Canada generously donated a Chevy HHR for the event.

Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice President and General Manager Dave Nonis spoke on the importance of Canuck Place, and how the telethon plays an integral role in keeping this amazing hospice operating. "We are very proud of the hard work of all the volunteers, medical staff and support services," Nonis said, "they make Canuck Place a home away from home for B.C. children and families who are going through an incredibly difficult time in their lives."

At Canuck Place, enhancing quality of life is imperative regardless of how long a child has to live, and the Canucks for Kids Fund Telethon remains successful in improving the lives of children through the support of the generous fans of the Vancouver Canucks.
